Khirsu & Winding of Chopta | Travel Diary June 2017
| We were all set for next expedition
for the day and packed our bags to get to the road after spending considerable
time to sasuraal with memory of fun movements and family get together. We moved
to pauri district and directed to small place called Khirsu where we had our
breakfast just nearby parking lot. Aloo
parantha was quite a crispy and the yummy taste of mix vegetable was
exceptionally better then high ended restaurant of Delhi. Then we walked by to
the garden for recreation. It was quiet and grassy with exceptional view of
mountain with full of Devdaar trees. The tree house at beginning of garden was dangerously
wrecked and difficult for maintaining standing position so we didn’t even try
to mount on it. Kiddo and we all enjoyed multiple climbing rides to long slides
and swings in the park playground.

Chopta the Curve of Meadows
| We later connected to Nation highway
7 after low gear driving in steep hill of Khirsu range and came to stop at
Dhari Devi temple where we took a holy dip at Alaknanda River before setting
our foot to the divine sanctum. Further on the way at Rudrapryag we added some
food supplies, drinking water and other refreshments for the day before putting
a next stop to tea stall nearby Chopta. We pulled up around 800 meter ahead of bend
before Chopta at evening where sun was glittering behind clouds like a diamond and
making the spectacular view of meadows scenery.
This cold charming place became amazing picnic spot for a little while and we captured maximum possible vivid moments in our mobile camera phones. At Chopta we checked in a decent family room, however four hours power supply was limited to mobile charging only and hot water was available for Rs.40 per bucket, as on demand basis. Temperature was chilled out so Birthday celebration was quickly concluded in room only and dinner was served at adjoining dhaba with seasoned daal, sabzi & hot tawa-roti.
