Christmas EVE & Nainital Zoo Safari | Travel Diary 2016
We had a plan to see our sister-in-law in the month of Nov on their marriage anniversary but due to some medical emergency could not make it happen. Eventually in the end of December we got the time so left for their home in Kalagarh and reached their by 11 at night. Saali ke Home!! ๐๐
It was only in the morning we met the other family member at the breakfast table. After a little chit-chat we asked them about any nearby place to go by. Kalagarh Dam was the option available and sasurji called the operation staff but it was closed for general public as some VIP movements was scheduled for the day. Huhh!! ๐๐
We didn't plan for long holiday and only had two days to stay more. Nainital which is around 150 KM was one of the decent hangout destination in the range for us. After initial no-no we convinced sali's jethje family to come along and around 11 o'clock we started our short trip in their SUV towards the destination. SUV Enjoyment !! ๐๐
Our first stop was at tea stall nearby Ramnagar, we got some relaxing time and placed order of quick bites, cookies for kids, arrangements of snacks for adults. However it was not raining and sun was shining hot but weather was pretty chilly when we stepped out from car at Khurpatal for quick lookout. However we didn't go down to the lake and picture perfect photoshoot was done only through the road. Very often we spotted such glorious scenery and panorama in our way to Nainital and did stop at few of them. Mauka to Click!! ๐๐
Its only by evening we reached at Nainital and directly went to the hotel referred by closed friend. Although place was quite decent and affordable but smell of ongoing paint work at bedrooms was totally intolerable. We did not waste our time further and booked a nice family & single room at nearby hotel for our night stay. Lets Settle !! ๐ฎ๐น
It was close hours to dawn when we all got ready to see all extravaganza, display of lighting at church, pomp of Bazaar etc before x-max eve. It was amazing chahal-pahal at surrounding of lake and to have greater view we boarded to boat and enjoyed the tempting look of hills. To visit temple at the time of aarti was great devotional feeling for us even standing bear foot in chilled floor. Leg freezed !! ☃๐ฆ
We roamed in Tibetan market and tried boiled egg with chatni & chopped onion before hitting to punjabi dhaba for dinning. Food was delicious with full of rich desi aroma. Pretty sooner the place was full of colorful crowd and waiting started for others. Our ladies with kids took the rikshaw ride to cross the mall road while we others enjoyed walking to hotel room for tight sleep once dinner was finished. Sleeping Grrrh Grrrh !! ๐ด๐ด
Early morning after quick breakfast we checkout and took a steep walk on 100 plus stairs towards Nainital Zoo. It was quite a exercise and whatever breakfast we had, was fully digested due to climbing upstairs. Not a huge crowd over at ticketing line however people were busy taking photo-shoot at the entrance. We started our tour seeing the birds, peacocks with other flying creators in the nest. Major attraction was the Lion King Couple roaring and playing cosy with each others. Red panda also was one of rare experience for us other than tiger, deer and black bear in their cages. The location, ambiance was nicely cleaned and decent animals species were available to face off at cage. Nice Little Jungle with Mazedaar Vacation Yatra !! ๐๐
